Drink of the Week was my column on cocktails that originally ran from 2007 to 2014, when the Santa Barbara News-Press pulled the plug. Currently we’re archiving the complete run from bars and bartenders extinct and extant. (The bar and restaurant industry in Santa Barbara, like most cities, has huge turnover).

We started the column unknowingly on the cusp of the mixology revolution. By 2014 both the main suppliers (Youngs and Southern) were reading the column, along with the bars.
